Hi,
Instead of doing individual posts for all 4 books i’m clumping the 3 published books together and my arc of What if its us Book Review. on the post before.
- Thats not What happened by Kody Keplinger is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book wouldn’t be something i would usually pick up due to the “school shooting”and my anxiety. However there was so much hype i had an urge to read it. So what better place to read it than in the sun on my balcony when i’m relaxed. OMG! This book is amazing and i have recommended it to lots of people since. It is an emotional and raw story of a shooting where you feel as if you were there and these survivors are your friends too. I think this is especially due to it being written in 1st person. All the characters are represented individually through letters and their texts and their emotions are expressed amazingly. It also is a great book to show how everyone deals with grief, trauma and injury differently. The press and media also had a key part on how it impacts views and can get stories wrong in which then causes effects on the families involved. The development of the plot kept me inquisitive as we kept finding out new perspectives and information. I could not put this book down and finished it within a day.
2. Boy Meets Hamster by Birdie Milano is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I could not stop laughing throughout this book, the multiple events that happen are hilarious and make you want to keep reading. Its quite a fast paced book and the LGBT romance throughout is wonderful and funny. I enjoyed the friendships involved and how it showed the struggles disabled children can face but also the positive attitude that they have too. Overall this is great easy read and perfect for the younger teen audience as well as older.
3.Running with lions by Julian Winters is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I have been so excited to read this since it came out and wow has it lived up to my expectations. This is a beautiful LGBT romance which shows the diverse opinions and treatment of people who identify as LGBT+ or different race ect. The football camp the characters are at is a great way to show how having a team and friends can make a difference on how people act and feel. As well as the romances throughout, the Friendships and the different roles people fill are comical as well as sad and heartwarming. As a reader you connect with the best friends Mason, Willie and Emir as well as Sebastian and get invested in their individual lives. Lastly I also enjoyed the aspect of the worries teenagers face when deciding their future as it shows how kids feel and the pressure we face in the 21st century.
Thanks for reading and all the support so far !
