    LGBT

We are ok by Nina LaCour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was Amazing. I loves the f/f friendship/ romance Where both Marin and Mabel were finding out out about themselves. It coped with grief in a realistic way and how not all families are the same. This was a definite read and i definitely will pick up more of her books. So glad i bought this on my London BookshopTour.

NEW BEGINNINGS/NEW AUTHOR

The best we could do by Thi Bui ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed the history of the wars and her life as well as her families. As it is memoir it was obviously quite impactful. The art styles is amazing, i loved the colour scheme and how it depicts the mood, and it was also easy to read.

SUMMER THEMED/PET

Summer bird blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman was a great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 It is a heartbreaking and soul searching novel, with Grief and how people cope differently being told so realistically. Rumi is a great character and i also felt like i knew Lea just as well as her . This book definitely need to be made into a film.

GRAPHIC NOVEL

Marbles by Ellen Forney is a great ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5. This has been on my TBR for ages and im so glad i picked it up. Its a memoir of living with Bipolar, and there we parts of this that resinated so much with my own story a few years back. A very honest look of mental health and the artwork was very impactful and the black and white reflected the ups and downs,

POC AUTHOR/YELLOW COVER

Watch us rise by Renee Watson and Ellen Hagan is a definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 .To read a novel that tackles feminism and Race in such a powerful way was very refreshing. Both Chelsea and Jasmine were characters you feel connected too and all of it was written perfectly which made me read it in half a day.

Thanks so much for reading, If you enjoyed this post id love for you to check my previous ones and show me some support.

  1. Awww what a fun challenge! I think I might have ticked off a few of the boxes, but only incidentally – a book with a green cover, a book about new beginnings, etc. You had a lot of winners here, by the looks! We Are Okay sounds fantastic!
